About Pacific Canbriam Energy

Building positive energy. Together

Pacific Canbriam Energy is a Canadian company focused on the production of liquids-rich natural gas in the Montney region of Northeastern British Columbia (B.C.).

Sharing sustainable Canadian natural gas with the world

Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, with an office in Fort St. John, B.C., we produce some of the world’s most sustainable natural gas, with the goal to provide reliable and responsibly-sourced energy for North American markets and growing Asian economies.

PCE is strategically positioned to supply Canadian natural gas to Woodfibre LNG, a low-carbon LNG export facility in Squamish, B.C, currently in the construction phase. PCE will supply the facility with natural gas to be liquified, loaded onto vessels and shipped to Asian markets. By using renewable hydro-electricity for power, Woodfibre will be the lowest-emission LNG export facility in the world. Through this partnership, PCE ensures that hydrocarbons produced in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin can meet the world’s growing demand for sustainable, reliable and safe energy.  Visit www.woodfibrelng.ca to learn more.

Our footprint is small, but our positive impact is significant

PCE is an industry leader in water management and recycling, and unique in the ownership of all field infrastructure across our operations – from processing plants, roads, camps and gathering pipelines. PCE is the second natural gas producer in North America to achieve an EO100™ Standard Certification from Equitable Origin. Learn more about our EO100™ certification here.

Adhering to some of the most rigorous climate action regulation in the world, our emissions intensity is one of the lowest in our sector in British Columbia. We’re always on the lookout for innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies to minimize emissions, reduce land disturbance and preserve water resources.

Emissions Reduction
Since 2014, our overall emissions intensity has decreased by 33%. We have implemented waste heat recycling at our Altares facility and conducted Zero Routine Flaring. We’ve also displaced our reliance on diesel as fuel across our operations.
Infrastructure Ownership
We own all field infrastructure, including processing plants, gathering pipelines and water handling assets. This eliminates our reliance on trucks to transport hydrocarbons and liquids, and further reduces emissions across our operations.
Water Sourcing and Recycling
We source water from the Williston Lake Reservoir and pipe it to our facilities rather than accessing natural rivers. Our water recycling hub re-uses up to 99% of produced water.
Pipeline Connected Field
Our main field is entirely connected by water pipelines. We have displaced the trucking of over 4.4 billion litres of fluids, eliminating 20,200 tonnes of CO2e.
Minimal Land Impact
We minimize our land footprint by using innovative subsurface technology such as horizontal wells that reach greater than four kilometers in length, and utilizing a multi-well pad development plan to reduce number of pads and pipelines required.
