Notice of Work: Kobes site Aug 13 – Sept 30, 2025

Pacific Canbriam Energy will be conducting environmental cleanup work at the Kobes c-073-I/094-B-8 site. This work is part of our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and restoring the land. Crews will be safely removing impacted soil from the lease area and transporting it to the Silverberry Landfill, a facility approved to handle this type of material. In addition, we’ll be doing environmental testing by drilling in select areas on and around the site. This helps us better understand what’s happening below the surface so we can plan the next steps in our restoration efforts. This work will take place August 13 – September 30, 2025.

Why We’re Doing This
Past assessments showed that some cleanup is needed at the site. This phase of work focuses on safely removing affected soil and gathering more information about the area. What we learn will guide future decisions and ensure the site is managed safely and responsibly over the long term.

What to Expect
We are committed to minimizing disruption and ensuring public safety and environmental compliance throughout this project. During this work, residents and road users may notice:

  • Increased noise due to excavation and heavy equipment
  • Higher traffic volumes along Haystack Forest Service Road, Upper Halfway Road, and Highway 97 (Alaska Highway)
  • Dust and debris from truck activity
  • Temporary traffic delays near the work area and on transport routes.
