Our Operations
The Montney formation is one of the top natural gas resource plays in North America

Our producing areas are located in the Altares and Kobes regions of the Montney formation in Northeastern B.C.
This geologically complex formation provides multi-layer development opportunities, with attributes of high pressure and temperatures that translate to high reservoir quality and best in class well performance.
100% owned infrastructure provides flexibility and lower operating costs – this is a differentiator for Pacific Canbriam Energy
We own all field infrastructure across our operations including processing facilities, midstream gathering assets, water pipelines and handling assets, roads and camps. This approach is a major commitment to enhance operational safety, and eliminates the need for trucks to transport liquids, further reducing emissions.
DRILLING & COMPLETIONS
The Montney region is regarded as some of the most challenging drilling terrain in North America. Long lateral wells optimize resource extraction from multiple underground layers and reduce the number of well sites required, cutting down significantly on land disturbance and associated infrastructure. This translates to huge capital efficiencies and savings on material and resources required to build and maintain a wellsite.

The longest well in the company’s history was drilled in 2024, with an impressive lateral length of 5,305 metres and a total measured depth of 8,006 metres. Upon completion, it held the record as the longest well in the B.C. Montney formation.
PRODUCTION
Pacific Canbriam Energy is the second natural gas producer in North America to be certified by the Equitable Origin EO100™ Standard for Responsible Energy Development, which recognizes our quality operations relative to global sustainable production standards.
PIPELINE INFRASTRUCTURE
Product is transported via PCE-owned pipelines and gathering systems for processing. PCE owns ~350 km of active pipeline infrastructure.
PROCESSING
Canbriam commissioned its first natural gas processing plant in 2012. To support additional growth in the area, Phase 1 and 2 of the Altares Processing Facility were completed in 2015, and Phase 3 was completed in 2021. Phase 4, the final phase, was completed in October 2024, bringing the total production capacity to approximately 86,000+ boe/d. The facility includes a full-service camp for workers and contractors.
WATER INFRASTRUCTURE
We are committed to protecting water resources and minimizing the use of freshwater. In 2024, we continued to prioritize and invest in responsible water management, and we are proud to have recycled 100% of produced water.
